101 THINGS TO DO
IN LIFE –NO.2


In the last Post – we have taken the First decision - to live 101 years – with Happiness and Health.

Now – the next decision is - how to accomplish it?

Let us also ask a more fundamental question and answer it. What (in us) lives 101 years – if we accomplish the first Goal?

Body and Mind !

Both of them will live 101 years. We don’t know if there is a soul. Not yet. I have not seen any one who has seen his soul.  I don’t think – any of the readers has seen his / her soul.  Not Yet (when you are still reading this!)

In any case – if we believe ancient scriptures – soul is never born nor does it die.

So - what lives and dies is the Body-Mind complex. Either they live together or they die together. For Most purposes Body and Mind are one.

You and I are given Life – which means – you and I are given this Body and Mind – and we need to keep them healthy and happy.

The ancient saying in Sanskrit is –

Deho Devaalayo Prokthaha

– which means, the Body-mind complex is like the Temple.

 And YOU – are its only resident.

You must keep your Temple – neat and clean, Sacred, happy and healthy.

We will examine how to accomplish it – as we proceed further.

But, take the initial decision to keep it Happy, Healthy, Clean and Sacred.

Body-mind complex has three important capabilities and functions

1.   Physical Action – performed through the physical Body, which is the only part of us which can be seen, smelt, tasted, touched and heard – that is, which is available for sensory experience of others. We said – we what to live Healthy life. Fifty percent of this Health pertains to the Physical Body.

2.   Thinking Faculty – The mind thinks. It does it continuously. Most of the time, YOU are a helpless passenger in the thinking vehicle called mind. Your entire waking life – is filled with one thought or another continuously by the Mind. Try to stop it. It won’t. You will find that it functions almost independently.

That continues, until, you seriously decide to take control of the Mind. When you decide to control your thought processes – You will become the master of the Mind, instead of its slave. When we said – we want to live Healthy Life, Physical health constitutes 50% of this Health and Mental Health constitutes the Balance 50% of Health.

3.   Feeling / Emotional Faculty : You are a bundle of emotions. Each thought arouses an emotion also, within you. We said – we want to live happily. Happiness is basically an emotion  - which contributes to physical and Mental health greatly – and to a sense of well-being. Conversely, physical and Mental health gives rise to happiness greatly. Both processes are true and support each other in a circular way. It is very important - to decide – to be happy all through life.

Physical and Mental Health and Happiness – require your pro-active participation in life and all its processes.

Are YOU the Driver of your Life, or, are you a helpless passenger?

This really is the decision you need to take. Decide to be the Driver.
Become the Driver of your life – and Be responsible for your physical and Mental health and Happiness.
